Smoking is not allowed. That includes cigarettes, vaping, hookah, marijuana. A charge of up to $1000 will be added to your reservation if evidence of smoking is found on the property. Please, keep noise to a minimum after 10:00 pm, as per Gwinnett County Ordinance. We have available parking space for 10 cars only, please consider rideshare, carpool or private shuttle service.
The Castle is a 5,167 square-feet fully furnished home built in 1982 in a 1-acre lot by the Hale Creek. The property is named "The Castle" because of its large spaces, high ceilings and the impression of visiting a castle while walking down the walkways that lead to the backyard. The Hale Creek runs through the back of the property, providing life to mature trees, and wildlife.
Location is 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta, 10 minutes from Stone Mountain. There are restaurants, gas stations, shopping and grocery stores within a 5-minute drive.
The property has a total of 6 bedrooms, upstairs one bedroom serves as the host’s office which is not for guests use. That leaves 5 bedrooms with sleeping arrangements, each room has a queen or double bed, all together sleeps 10.
The property has 4 full bathrooms, and 1 half bathroom. All bathrooms have been remodeled with frame-less glass shower doors, marble or granite vanity tops and marble tile accents.
Inside, enjoy custom cedar wood beams, barn door and bar shelves; custom trim work, intricate judges wood paneling and antique and vintage furnishings, local hand made artwork, a collection of Fab Funky prints and vintage poster prints throughout the property.
Outside, enjoy a 12-ft high deck, with an amazing view of the creek and the trees. As well as 760 sq. ft patio space featuring a custom-made wood pallet sectional, string lights and additional seating throughout. Lots of lawn space to run around and a fire pit.
Wildlife can be seen throughout the Hale Creek area. Most common are Red-headed Woodpecker, Red-cockaded Woodpecker, Brown-headed Nuthatch, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Summer Tanager, Northern Cardinal, Carolina Wren, Carolina Chickadee, Mourning Dove, Blue Jay, American Crow, Northern Mockingbird, and there have been sights of several Red-Tailed Hawks, Otters, and deer (bucks, does and fawns).
Enjoy beautiful well-cared lush gardens featuring diverse plants including Ferns, Hostas, Hydrangeas, Camelias, Azaleas, Mexican Heather, Japanese Anise, Topiary, Japanese Maple, as well as mature Cherry Blossom, Oak and Pine trees. All highlighted by LED focal lighting.
